Welcome to True Vitality

What is vitality? Vitality is defined as energy; life force; the capacity to live, grow and develop. We all have this capacity inside of us. Why does it seem out of our reach at times?  If it comes from the inside why do we often look outside of ourselves to get it? These are some of the questions that can leave us feeling frustrated with our bodies and our lives, and keep us looking for the answers in a culture that doesn't recognize the missing pieces around attaining optimal, sustainable health. It's not just about what you are eating, it's who you are as an eater that affects your nutritional metabolism. Are you trying to lose weight because you hate yourself and you hate your body? That is a very different energetic state than loving and honoring your body and trying to understand it's many messages so that you can move into an optimal place of health.

Our bodies and our health are affected by exercise and the quality of our nutrition. But they are also profoundly affected by our emotions, thoughts, beliefs about our bodies, beliefs about food and exercise, environments, relationships, and the list goes on. Our metabolism is negatively affected by our stress level during meals and can be positively affected by our ability to relax and find pleasure when we eat.  Past traumas and childhood wounds can be the source of chronic states of fight or flight which can show up as compulsive eating and weight gain. We are such complex beings, and it is time to address all of who we are as eaters.

There is so much information out there on what we "should" and "shouldn't" eat. Collectively there is so much pain and confusion around weight, nutrition, and body image. And collectively our approach to weight loss and nutrition isn't working.  We have been at war with our bodies and our appetites, and this has been our only option until now. Stepping out of this war and stepping into a nourishing relationship with food and a loving relationship with your body is where true, sustainable changes can happen. It's about mind body nutrition that includes heart and soul.

My role is to support you in discovering the obstacles that keep you from accessing your vitality and seeing these obstacles as the teacher themselves.

Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive- and then go and do that....because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
